Massage Benefits – Featuring Mystic

Robert and I try to get massages once a month and we honestly believe everyone should try to do the same. Of course anyone that’s experienced a massage knows how great they are but don’t necessarily understand what physical and mental benefits regular massage treatments can have on you- especially when it comes to loosing weight!

Relieves Stress

Stress relief and reduction is important if you want to lead a healthy lifestyle. It allows your body to relax and your mind to let go. Cortisol, which is a hormone released when you are stressed is one of the main culprits of increased fat storage!

Getting regular massages can help keep reduce your stress levels not only during the massage treatment but also for hours after. A lot of people, myself included, feel rejuvenated for the rest of the day – no matter what happens afterwards! I find that after a massage I react more calmly to things that would ordinarily stress me out, like traffic or an annoying boss! mystic2

We recently got our first couples massage at a Thai spa, Mystic, here in Lebanon. At Mystic in our couples room we had our own shower so we could rinse off before and after the massage which was really great! It’s important that your spa experience goes smoothly so you feel comfortable and can really relax and enjoy the treatment. The masseuses were always respectful and let us take our time getting ready for the treatment and then especially after – we were moving so slowly because we were so relaxed! 🙂 If you are in Lebanon, we highly recommend checking them out! I mean look at this picture of their couples room…just envision how the candles, essential oils, and soft music can really turn your mood around!
