I met Robert Maalouf over a year ago. To start, I was very skeptical. Could a trainer help or even add value? I was 58 years old, retired and weighed 230 pounds. I was in fair to poor shape and was looking for core development and weight loss. My wife bought me 25 sessions for a Christmas present, so I was obligated.

I met with Robert to discuss my goals and to set schedules. He was professional and was very knowledgeable. I found him easy to talk to and I felt comfortable with him and the plan he laid out.

After 3 weeks, I was more than impressed with my progress. I had reached levels that I could not have attained previously. He had me doing things I would never have done on my own and made sure I was using the proper form and position, as well as, the sequencing and equipment selection. Don’t get me wrong, there were days when I did not want to come in. It was tough and Robert did not let you wimp out. However, due to the progress you felt after each session, you were stoked to come back for more.

Robert was excellent at understanding my limits, pushing me in areas that I needed and making it fun. Because of this, I decided to work with Robert for another 26 sessions. After 8 months, I was 194 pounds and was in the best shape of my life.

There is no doubt, I would recommend Robert to anyone that wants to better their physical condition. I feel fortunate that I had a professional, like Robert, to take me to the next level.

I have been training with Robert for over a year and he’s hands-down awesome! His knowledge level, desire to learn, and aspiration to grow professionally are inspiring. Plus, his understanding of the mechanics of the human body has been demonstrated in his ability to train and motivate me even on my worst days!

When first starting, I was incredibly out of shape and fighting a series of injuries. Rob initially worked on getting me ready for knee surgery by focusing on mobility and strength so the recovery would be easier. Once through the surgery, he listened to directions from my surgeon and identified ways to push me safely. He’s smart and keeps up with the latest in physio and nutritional research and he frequently makes extra effort to find information that applies to me and shares it in a way I can better understand what I need to be doing. Although I can get a little impatient with the speed of progress at times, Rob is always incredibly positive and quick to make me think about the ways I have improved. He’s also very good at keeping tabs on how I’m feeling and adapting each session to keep me motivated.

His workouts can be tough, but I always feel better at the end of a session with Rob. He keeps me focused and motivated through the workout, but doesn’t stop there. He frequently checks in between sessions and reminds me to stay focused on goals, eat right, drink water and keep working out.

I can honestly say Rob is one of the most sincere and genuinely nice people I have ever met. You can always see and feel how much he loves what he does and wants to help people be their best selves. I would highly recommend working with Rob to anyone who needs a little extra positive energy and great person in their life!

I started training with Robert Maalouf two years ago. Robert is the Director of Personal Training and along with his degree in Exercise Science, certifications in personal training, strength and conditioning has much experience managing trainers and most importantly training people like me. I started regular training sessions about two years before I met Robert. Working with other trainers was good for me but working with Robert has made a tremendous difference in my life. It has been a wonderful opportunity and privilege to have Robert in my life.
Robert has helped me make regular training on my own part of my routine. Every session is different from the last and I have learned the importance of doing different exercises for the same muscle group in order that my body has the maximum benefit from the exercise. I have also learned exercises that are challenging and fun. For example, when I first started I could not jump rope. Now I jump rope several times per week and have learned great variations to keep the work out challenging.
I am stronger than I have ever been in my life thanks to Robert’s dedication and encouragement. Robert has constantly reminded me of the value of nutrition along with exercise. Most importantly Robert has the ability to push me but not over exceed my ability. I have greatly improved in all areas of fitness and learned to do exercises properly and safely. Examples of improvement are push-ups and pull-ups. In the beginning I did not have the ability or know how to do a proper push-up or pull-up. Robert took the time to build my muscles up gradually so that I can now do both.
First and foremost Robert has encouraged me to do my very best and not give up. He has made a huge difference in my life and I am convinced that I will live longer and never forget what I have learned. I would recommend Robert to anyone that is interested in improving their quality life.

Robert is AWESOME!! He has been my trainer for almost 2 years, and in that time I was able to lose 15 pounds and gain muscle, which means more strength, and balance. I have had back issues for 28 years and at times debilitating pain. Robert has helped me to reduce the pain, and duration, through his training methods. He is the smartest person I know when it comes to weight training, weight loss, nutrition and supplements for health. He watches every move you make when working out. He makes sure your body is in proper alignment at all times. The slightest tilt of the head, one shoulder higher than the other, are you putting your weight on your heel, abs tight; these are his constant reminders as he circles you while you do your reps. I am a Type I diabetic and Robert is knowledgeable of how a diabetic’s body functions differently than a non-diabetic. He is at the top of my list of nicest people I know. He is compassionate about his work, and about his clients. He wants to help you succeed, but if you slip up, he does not judge. The workouts are always changing, keeping it fresh and interesting, not repetitive and boring. Robert won’t put you into a workout, or machine that would be beyond your abilities. That’s not to say he won’t challenge you. You will sweat, breathe hard, drink a lot of water, feel the burn, but when the session is done, you feel empowered, stronger than an hour ago. Your endorphins are high, all things negative are forgotten, and you thank him for giving you that feeling, because you feel so good. I will miss Robert. He will be on the other side of the world, but I will still think the world of him.
